What is pressotherapy?
Pressotherapy is a treatment inspired by manual lymphatic drainage. Using inflatable boots or sleeves, it applies sequential, physiological pressure on the limbs to stimulate venous and lymphatic circulation. At Gouizine Clinic in Temsia (Agadir), it complements our physiotherapy care perfectly.
Medical indications
- Venous insufficiency and heavy legs
- Edema after surgery and lymphedema
- Water retention and circulatory stasis
- Sports recovery after intense effort
- Thrombosis prevention (alongside medical advice)
- Post-surgery follow-up (especially aesthetic or orthopedic surgery)
How a session unfolds
You lie down comfortably. Pneumatic boots are placed on your legs (or sleeves on your arms), then progressively inflated according to a program tailored to your situation. A session lasts 30 to 45 minutes and is completely painless — most patients describe it as very relaxing. A 6- to 10-session protocol typically gives the best results.
Contraindications
Pressotherapy is contraindicated in cases of acute venous thrombosis, skin infection, decompensated heart failure, or pregnancy (without medical advice). Houda and Noureddine Gouizine systematically assess your situation before any session.
Pressotherapy combines perfectly with therapeutic massage and physiotherapy.
